When your bar's point of sale is connected to Noctern, every performance gets a Bar Sales page: what the bar took while the show was on, and which items moved. Open the performance from AdminEvents and click Bar Sales in the Money group. It is also one click from the show's Profit & Loss page, as View bar drill-down.
Venue Admin only.
What you see
The top card names the Window it counted — a from-and-to timestamp — with your point-of-sale provider on a badge, then five figures:
| Figure | Meaning | |---|---| | Gross | everything rung up in the window, tax and tip included | | Net | the sale value before tax and tip | | Tax | sales tax collected | | Tip | tips taken | | Transactions | how many tickets the bar closed in the window |
Below that, two tables: Top sellers by revenue (highest gross in the window) and Top sellers by volume (most units rung up), each with the item name and its figure.
The window Noctern counts
A bar transaction belongs to a show if it closed between a set number of minutes before the show starts and a set number of minutes after it ends. The default is 60 minutes before and 30 minutes after.
If your bar opens two hours before doors, or stays open long after the last song, the default window undercounts you. Change it once for the venue: AdminVenues[venue]Edit, open the Point of Sale card, and set Minutes before start and Minutes after end under Sales attribution window. Both accept 0–720 minutes.
When the page finds no transactions it tells you the offsets it used, so you can see whether the window is the reason.
The window is a venue-wide setting, not a per-show one. Pick offsets that fit your normal night; a one-off late event will still be counted against them.
Transactions are matched on when they closed, not when they opened. A tab opened before doors and closed during the show counts for the show; a tab left open until after the window closes does not.
No point of sale connected
The page says No POS connected and offers nothing to read — Noctern has no way to see your bar. Connecting a point of sale is set up with Noctern support; see Connecting your point of sale for what you will need to hand over.
Until it is connected, a show's Profit & Loss counts ticket money only, and shows a No POS connected badge so the margin is not mistaken for the whole picture.
Bar revenue per attendee is on the show's Profit & Loss page, not here — it is the gross figure above divided by tickets sold, and it is the quickest read on whether a crowd spent.
Open the Bar Sales page for a recent show and check the window matches when your bar was actually open. If it doesn't, widen Minutes before start on the venue's Point of Sale card and reload.
