Once a show exists, open AdminEvents, click the show, and use Edit details on the Setup card to change its price, add discounted prices, or publish it.
The edit page is a stack of collapsible cards. Only Event Details (and GA Ticket Pricing inside it) are open on a first visit; click any other card's header to open it. Everything you change is saved by the Save Changes button at the bottom.
Ticket prices
How you set the price depends on how the show is seated.
General admission — the GA Ticket Pricing card, inside Event Details, holds Total GA Tickets Available (the capacity) plus one row per tier: Tier Name and Price. Add Tier adds another. Use tiers for genuinely different products ("Standing", "Balcony", "VIP table"), not for discounts.
Reserved seating — the prices live on the seating layout, not here. Set the per-tier prices on the layout itself. See Building and editing seat maps.
The Seating Layout dropdown in Event Details is where you move this show onto a different chart (or onto General admission (no seats)). It lists your venue's saved charts; picking one and saving gives this date its own fresh copy of it, and changes no other date. The dropdown is greyed out once any seat is sold or on hold — "Seats are sold or held for this show, so its seating chart can't be changed" — because a different chart means different seats, and a ticket already sold would stop pointing at a real one. Changing the Venue clears the dropdown and keeps Save Changes greyed out until you pick one of the new venue's charts; a show with sold or held seats cannot be moved to another venue. For an All-In show, the number you type in Price is the whole amount the buyer pays, fees and tax included.
Changing a price after tickets have sold does not refund or adjust those purchases. It only affects later sales.
Pricing categories (Senior, Student, Member…)
Pricing Categories (Optional) is a separate card. A category is an alternative price the buyer picks under each ticket at checkout — Senior, Student, Member — and it takes over the tier price for the tiers it covers.
Each row has:
- Name — shown to buyers and at the box office.
- Price ($) — the full price for this category, not the discount amount. (A $20 Senior price on a $25 tier, not "5".)
- Description — an optional note shown with it, e.g. "Must show valid ID".
- Applies to tiers — click a tier chip to limit the category to it. None selected means all tiers.
- Category sale starts / Category sale ends — an optional window. Leave both blank to inherit your venue's default for that category, or to leave it always open.
- Exempt from day-of-show upcharge — ticked automatically when the name contains "Student"; change it if that is not what you want.
Adding categories to a tier disables that tier's own price at checkout — buyers can only pick a category. If you want the ordinary price to stay available, add it as its own category too (same name as the tier, same price). The card warns you inline ("This category has no full-price companion on…") when a tier ends up discount-only.
Pricing categories apply to reserved-seating shows only today. On a GA show the card still accepts rows, but the Applies to tiers area says "Pricing categories currently apply to reserved-seating events only" and nothing re-prices a GA ticket.
A category whose sale window has closed stays available to box-office and door staff — the window is applied to the public checkout only. Use it for staff-only rates or for an early-bird price that has ended online.
Saving is blocked while any category row is missing a name or a price; the card says so in red and the Save Changes button is disabled.
All-In pricing and rounding
When the show uses All-In Pricing, buyers see one price that already includes fees and tax. You enter that total, and Noctern works backwards to the base price that produces exactly that total.
This means the per-ticket base price shown in reports can be a cent or two away from a simple subtraction. That is expected rounding, not an error.
Show status
A show has four statuses, but only two of them are set from the edit page.

Cancelled and archived shows refuse checkout, online and at the window.
- Open AdminEvents and click the show.
- Click Edit details.
- To change prices, open GA Ticket Pricing (inside Event Details) and edit the tier rows, or click Add Tier.
- To add a discounted price, open Pricing Categories (Optional), click + Add Category, and fill in the name, price, tiers and window.
- To publish or unpublish, use the Draft / Active switch in the bar at the bottom of the page.
- Click Save Changes.
Cancelling a show from this page is not possible, and that is deliberate — cancelling is on the show's own page, next to the refund that has to follow it. See Cancelling a show and refunding every order.
Cancelling a show does not email ticket holders by itself. Nothing goes out until you process the refunds, and even then only if the refund is set up to email patrons. Plan to tell your audience yourself.
If the page says the show's promo and presale codes could not be loaded, reload before you save. Saving with that error showing would wipe the codes, which is why the Save Changes button is disabled until it clears.
Open an active reserved-seating show, add a "Senior" pricing category $5 below the tier price, add a second category at the full tier price so buyers can still pay it, and set the Senior window to end a week before the show. Save, then check the public checkout shows both, and that the box office still offers Senior after the window closes.
