Cookies and similar technologies
Noctern uses cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels and browser storage, to run the site, take payments safely, fix errors, and measure and show advertising. This page lists what we use and why. You can change your choice at any time.
Your choices
Strictly necessary technologies are always on. Marketing / advertising is on by default and you can switch it off. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a decline of marketing cookies.
You can also use Cookie settings in the footer of any page. Your choice is saved in a cookie on this browser, so set it again if you clear your cookies or use another browser or device. If you are signed in, declining marketing is also saved to your account.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work: your sign-in session, checkout and seat holds, protection against fraud and abuse, error tracking, and remembering your consent choice. They cannot be switched off.
| Company | Purpose | Domain(s) |
|---|---|---|
| Noctern | Keeps you signed in (session cookie), remembers your cookie choice (noctern_consent), and remembers your checkout seat hold timer in your browser. | noctern.com |
| Google (Firebase Authentication and App Check, reCAPTCHA) | Signs you in and protects sign-in, checkout and our servers from bots and abuse. | googleapis.com, google.com/recaptcha, gstatic.com/recaptcha, recaptcha.net |
| Stripe | Takes card payments at checkout, donations and memberships, and helps detect payment fraud. | js.stripe.com, stripe.com |
| PayPal | The PayPal button at checkout, where a venue offers it. | paypal.com |
| Sentry | Error tracking: tells us when a page breaks. Reports can include the page you were on, your browser and your IP address. | ingest.us.sentry.io |
Marketing / advertising
On by default; you can switch it off in Cookie settings. These measure which ads lead to ticket sales and let advertising partners show you relevant ads. For venues that use past-buyer audiences, we may also share a hashed email address or phone number with the advertising partner, only for signed-in buyers who opted in to marketing from that venue and have not declined here. When Marketing is off, the Meta Pixel does not load and no purchase events are sent to Meta.
| Company | Purpose | Domain(s) |
|---|---|---|
| Meta Platforms (Facebook and Instagram) | The Meta Pixel on event, checkout and order-confirmation pages (cookies _fbp and _fbc), and Meta Conversions API purchase events sent from our servers. Used to measure which ads lead to ticket sales and to show relevant ads. | connect.facebook.net, facebook.com, graph.facebook.com |
| The venue you are buying from (their own Meta Pixel) | When a venue connects its own Meta Pixel, the same event, checkout and confirmation page events also go to that venue’s pixel, for the same purposes. | connect.facebook.net, facebook.com |
| Noctern | Remembers which campaign link brought you to us (cookies nct_ft, nct_lt, _fbc) so a purchase can be matched to an ad. They stay in your browser, and we send them to an advertising partner only while Marketing is on. | noctern.com |
