Go to AdminVenues[venue]Marketing and click Meta ads (top right) โ the page is AdminVenues[venue]MarketingMeta ads. This is where your venue connects its own Meta business, so that Noctern can later create event ads in your ad account.
Your ads are paid by your Meta ad account and the card on it, directly to Meta. Noctern never pays for, marks up or touches your ad spend.
Who can do this
The venue owner can. Other staff need the Meta ads permission, which the owner (or anyone with Team management) ticks on the Team page โ see Adding Team Members and Managing Permissions. Staff marked "legacy grant" on the Team page currently have every permission, Meta ads included, until you set their boxes.
If the page says No access to Meta ads and you do have the permission, Noctern has switched Meta ads off for your venue. Contact Noctern support.
Connect
- Click Connect Meta. You are sent to Facebook to log in.
- Facebook shows what Noctern is asking for: managing ads, reading ad results, your business, and your Pages. Choose the business and ad account you want to use and click Continue.
- You come back to the Meta ads page, which now says Connected as and your Facebook name.
Finish the connect in the same browser you started it in, within 15 minutes. If you cancel on Facebook, nothing is connected.
Pick your ad account, Page and pixel
Once connected, the page lists what your Facebook login can reach:
| Choice | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Ad account | Where ads are created and billed. Test (sandbox) ad accounts are listed too |
| Facebook Page | The Page your ads run as |
| Pixel | How Meta measures ticket sales from your ads. The list shows the pixels in the ad account you picked |
Pick one of each and click Save. The connection line then reads Connected as your name ยท Ad account its name.
An ad account or Page you cannot see here is not shared with the Facebook login you used. Give that person access in Meta Business Suite, then click Reconnect.
Reconnect and disconnect
- Reconnect logs in again โ for example with a different Facebook person, or before access expires (the page shows the date). Reconnecting clears your picks; pick them again.
- Disconnect removes Noctern's access: your saved picks are deleted and Noctern asks Meta to revoke the ads permissions you granted. Any Facebook Page or Instagram account you connected for social posting stays connected. Every connect and disconnect is written to your venue's activity log.
Noctern never shows your Meta access key to anyone, including you โ it is stored encrypted and used only by Noctern's servers.
