An artist who has claimed their profile gets their own area of Noctern: the artist dashboard. This page describes what the artist sees, so you can walk them through it. Venue admins do not use this area themselves — a venue admin account cannot open it.
How an artist gets there
An artist only has a dashboard after they claim their profile with the invite link your venue sends — see Claiming an artist profile. Right after claiming, Noctern takes them straight to the dashboard.
To come back later:
- The artist signs in to Noctern with the account they used to claim the profile.
- They click the Dashboard icon at the top of the page (on a phone, open the menu and tap Dashboard).
If the account manages more than one artist, a Your Artists page asks them to Select an artist to manage. With only one artist they go straight in.
If an artist sees "No artist profile is linked to your account yet", they have signed in with an account that has not claimed a profile. Send them the invite link again, or check which email they used.
What is on the dashboard
The menu has three pages: Dashboard, Edit Profile, and My Deals.
Dashboard
- A welcome line with the artist's name
- Three counts: Upcoming Shows, Total Shows, and Venues
- A profile summary with Edit Profile and View Public Profile buttons
- Upcoming Events and Past Events — each with the event title, date, venue, and the artist's role
The show counts and event lists come from events recorded against the artist's profile. If they are empty, the lists read "No upcoming events." and "No past events." The artist's deals are always under My Deals, whether or not an event appears here.
Edit Profile
The artist keeps their own profile up to date here and clicks Save Changes:
| Card | What the artist enters | |---|---| | Profile | Artist / Performer Name, Profile Image, Bio, Genres, City, State, Website | | Agent / Manager | Agent Name, Agent Email, Agent Phone | | Social Media & Links | A platform and URL for each link (Add Social Link) | | Tax Information (W-9) | Tax Classification, Tax ID (SSN or EIN), Street Address, ZIP Code | | EPK & Promotional Materials | EPK URL — a link to their press kit | | Technical Rider & Requirements | Technical Requirements — sound, lighting, stage, and backline needs | | Social Media Metrics | Followers / Subscribers per platform, plus Streams for Spotify (Add Metric) |
Profile images must be JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF. iPhone HEIC photos are not accepted — the artist needs to convert them to JPEG first.
If you need a 1099-NEC for a claimed artist and Noctern says their tax information is incomplete, ask the artist to open Edit Profile → Tax Information (W-9) and fill in the Tax ID, Street Address, and ZIP Code, and to make sure City and State are filled in on the Profile card. Your venue cannot enter these for a claimed artist.
My Deals
My Deals lists the artist's deals, newest first, with tabs for All Deals, Active, and Settled. Each deal shows:
- the venue name and the deal status (Draft, Sent, Confirmed, or Settled)
- the event title and date, when the deal is linked to an event
- Type (Guarantee, Door Deal, Versus, or Bonus) and Amount — the guarantee, the door percentage, or the versus guarantee. A Bonus deal shows a dash here; the full terms are on the deal sheet.
- Status — Signed or Pending, once you have generated the agreement link
- Payment — the amount and date, once you have recorded the payment
When you have generated the agreement link, a View Deal button opens the same Performance Agreement page as the signing link, so the artist can read the full terms and sign there.
A claimed artist can see a deal as soon as you save it — including a Draft you have not sent yet, with its type and amount. They cannot open the full terms until you click Generate agreement link. Do not put figures in a draft that you are not ready for the artist to see.
An artist who works with several venues sees their deals from all of them in this one list.
What the artist cannot see or do
- They cannot see your venue's Private Notes, your Activity Timeline, or a deal's settlement breakdown.
- They cannot create, edit, or settle deals. Deals are always created by the venue.
- They can only see artist profiles they have claimed.
