Box Office

Once you're signed in for an event, the check-in tab turns your phone into a scanner. It validates each ticket against the same live inventory the web box office uses, so there's no separate sync step.

Scanning a ticket

  1. Open the Check-in tab and point the camera at the patron's QR code β€” on their phone screen or a printed ticket.

  2. The app detects and validates the code automatically; you don't need to tap anything to trigger the scan.

  3. Read the result screen and let the guest in, or handle the exception (see below).

Reading the result

| Screen | Meaning | |---|---| | Green | Valid ticket. Shows the patron's name and seat/section, and flips the ticket to checked-in. | | Yellow | Already scanned. Shows the time of the first scan β€” ask the guest for ID if you suspect a duplicate ticket is being passed around. | | Red | Invalid, cancelled, or refunded ticket. Shows the reason so you know why to turn the guest away. |

If a ticket was exchanged for a different performance or seat, scanning the old QR code shows a message telling you it was exchanged and to use the new ticket instead. Ask the guest to pull up their most recent confirmation email β€” the new ticket's QR code is the one to scan.

When the camera can't read the code

  1. Tap Manual Entry.

  2. Type the order id or ticket id from the guest's confirmation email or printed ticket.

  3. The app looks it up the same way a successful scan would, and shows the same green/yellow/red result.

The POS app and the web check-in scanner (AdminEventsCheck-in Scanner, opened from an event's page) check the same tickets in real time β€” a ticket scanned on one is immediately marked checked-in on the other. Don't run both at the same door for the same line; pick one per entry point to avoid confusing double-scans.
