Every gift is attributed to a fund โ a named account like "Annual Fund" or "Capital Campaign" โ and optionally to an appeal, the specific ask that brought it in. Funds and appeals live on the same Fundraising page as recording a gift.
Before you start
Venue Admin with canViewDonors and canEditSettings, or Super Admin.
Funds
Go to AdminVenuesFundraising.

Type a name in New fund name (for example, "Art for All") and click Add fund.
Check Restricted if gifts to this fund are donor-restricted โ this groups it separately, with the required disclosure, on year-end statements.
Use the pencil icon to rename a fund, or the archive icon to retire one you no longer solicit for. Archived funds drop out of the Record Gift dialog but keep their giving history โ check Show inactive to see them again.
Every venue has one default fund and it can't be deleted โ it's the fallback when a gift isn't assigned anywhere else.
Appeals
An appeal is a specific solicitation โ a spring letter, a gala ask, a giving-day campaign โ linked to a fund, with an optional dollar goal.
Type a name in New appeal name (for example, "Spring Letter") and click Add appeal. Set a goal amount if you want a progress bar.
Click the copy-link icon to grab a donate link that pre-selects this appeal, or Download QR for a scannable code to print on mailers.
The progress bar reads "$raised of $goal ยท N gift(s)" once a goal is set, or just "$raised raised ยท N gift(s)" without one. Every appeal's donate link points to your venue's public donate page with the appeal pre-selected, so gifts that come in through it are attributed automatically.
Watch out
Restricted funds are grouped separately on year-end statements with the IRS-required disclosure language. Only check Restricted for funds that are genuinely donor-restricted โ it changes what appears on a donor's tax document.
- Open the demo venue's Fundraising page and note the Capital Campaign fund's Restricted badge.
- Add a test fund, then archive it and confirm it disappears from the fund list until you check Show inactive.
- Copy an appeal's donate link and open it in a new tab to see the public donate page with the appeal pre-selected.
