Gift certificates let you give the gift of live events. You buy a certificate for a dollar amount; the recipient uses the code at checkout toward a ticket purchase at that venue.
Buying a gift certificate
Open the venue's page and click Gift certificates, or use the direct link the venue shared. The button only appears for venues that sell gift certificates. You don't need an account.
- Under Amount, choose a preset or type your own in the Other $ box. The smallest and largest amounts the venue allows are shown underneath.
- Under Your information, enter your name and email. Both are required — your receipt goes to this address.
- If it's a gift, fill in Recipient: their name, their email, and an optional Gift message. Leave this section empty if the certificate is for you.
- Click Continue to payment. You see the certificate value, a Credit card fee line if one applies, and the Total.
- Enter your card details and click Pay.
Once the payment goes through, the code is emailed to the recipient's address — or to yours if you left the recipient email empty. The email has a PDF certificate attached and a code in the format GC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX. The code does not expire.
A gift certificate is redeemable like cash and can't be replaced if the code is lost. Keep the email and PDF somewhere safe. The email can't be scheduled for a later date, so if it's a surprise, send it to yourself and forward or print it on the day.
Using a gift certificate at checkout
- Choose your tickets and go to checkout.
- In the order summary, find the Gift Certificate / Account Credit field.
- Enter the full code (
GC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and click Apply. - The amount used appears as a line in the summary, with Remaining to pay underneath. Click Remove if you change your mind.
- If something is still owed, pay the remainder by card. If the certificate covers the whole order, click Complete Order — no card is needed.
The code is not case-sensitive — you can type it in capitals or lower case.
Any balance left over stays on the certificate for next time. If the field isn't there, that venue doesn't accept gift certificates online.
Checking your balance
Each venue has a Check Gift Certificate Balance page — ask the venue for the link. Enter your code and click Check balance to see what is left on it. You don't need to sign in.
There is no list of your gift certificates in your profile, so keep the code.
Gift certificates are venue-specific — a certificate purchased for one venue cannot be used at a different venue.
