POS / Door Phone track

8 lessons, in order. Each one links to the help topic it teaches, a task to try on your own venue, and a three-question checkpoint.

  1. 1.
The Noctern POS mobile app — what it is and when to use it

Door staff understand the difference between the web check-in and the mobile POS app, and when each is appropriate.

  2. 2.
PIN authentication — signing in for an event on the POS app

Door staff can authenticate to the POS app for a specific event using the 6-digit box office PIN.

  3. 3.
QR check-in on the POS app

Door staff can scan QR codes on tickets using the phone camera and handle common scan results.

  4. 4.
Tap to Pay on the POS app (contactless card at the door)

Door staff can process a contactless card payment for a walk-up sale using the phone as a card reader.

  5. 5.
Cash sales on the POS app

Door staff can record a walk-up cash sale, compute change, and issue a ticket.

  6. 6.
Scanning when the network is down

Door staff understand how check-in keeps working with no venue network, and what shows up afterwards.

  7. 7.
    Selling from an offline allocation

Door staff can sell and print from a pre-claimed block of tickets with no connection at all.

  8. 8.
Take card payments with no internet

Sell held tickets by card when the venue internet is down, and reconcile the ones that come back declined.

Finished everything? Open your completion page — it prints on one page with your name, venue and the date.
