Stripe payouts (Connect) — deposits made straight to your bank

Venue Admin

Stripe payouts (Connect) is for venues that are paid directly by Stripe through their own connected Stripe account. It lists each deposit Stripe made to your bank and the orders behind it.

If Noctern collects your payments and pays you per event — the default — this page stays empty, and Payout reconciliation is the report you want. To find out which arrangement you are on, see How your venue gets paid.

Open the Reports hub (Reports in the admin sidebar) and click Stripe payouts (Connect) under Finance. The tile is shown for every venue.

The payout list

The page shows your most recent 50 payouts, newest first. There are no filters. Each line shows:

  • the amount deposited
  • arrives and the date
  • how many orders are in the payout
  • a red unmatched count, when a line in the payout could not be tied to a Noctern order or donation
  • the payout's status as Stripe reports it — paid, in_transit, pending, canceled or failed

Before your first deposit the page says No Stripe payouts yet. They appear here once Stripe deposits to the venue.

Inside one payout

Click a payout to open it. A table lists every line Stripe included:

ColumnWhat it shows
TypeWhat the line is — a payment, a refund, or the payout itself
Order / DonationThe Noctern order or donation the line belongs to, or (unmatched)
EventThe event the order was for
AmountThe amount of the line. Refunds are negative

Click Reconciliation PDF to download the same breakdown for your records.

When a line says unmatched

An unmatched line is money in the payout that Noctern could not tie to one of its own orders or donations — for example a charge or an adjustment made directly in your Stripe dashboard. Check it in Stripe first. If it should have matched a Noctern order, contact Noctern support with the payout date and amount.

How this differs from Payout reconciliation

On a connected account nothing is owed to you by Noctern for ticket sales — Stripe already deposited it. The one exception is a negotiated fee share, which Noctern pays separately; see Fee share rebate.

Cash and check sales are never in a payout. Reconcile those with the Ticket ledger and Daily cash.

Try it

If your venue uses its own Stripe account, open Stripe payouts (Connect) from the Reports hub, open the newest payout and download its Reconciliation PDF. If you are paid per event by Noctern, confirm the page is empty and open Payout reconciliation instead.

Checkpoint

Answer all 3 questions correctly to mark this lesson complete.

  1. 1. What does a red unmatched count on a payout mean?

  2. 2. How many payouts does the page show?

  3. 3. Which report does a venue paid per event by Noctern use instead?
