For a venue with unreliable Wi-Fi or cell service, a Door POS device can be prepared before doors with a block of tickets it can sell entirely offline — no connection needed for the rest of the night.
Only a venue admin (or super-admin) can prepare a device this way — box-office staff can see what's currently held but can't create a new allocation.
Preparing a device
Open AdminBox OfficeHolds (the Seat Holds tab) and choose the venue and event.
In the Prepare device for offline card, either pick seats on the map (reserved-seating events) or choose a GA tier and quantity (general-admission events).
Enter the device's id (whatever name identifies it — e.g. "door-ipad-1") and, if the venue tracks cash drawers, the register it's assigned to.
Confirm. The held seats/GA immediately stop showing as available anywhere else — online, at the web box office, or to any other device — until they're sold or released.
The block automatically expires at the end of the performance — anything still unsold in it becomes available again on its own; you don't have to remember to release it.
Releasing a block early
If a device won't need its block after all (the network held up fine, or the shift is ending), find it in the same card's list and choose Release. Anything already sold from the block is untouched — only the unsold remainder returns to inventory.
Reconciling after the show
While a block is active, the event's admin page shows an "Offline sales pending upload" notice so you know tickets are out on a device and haven't shown up as sales yet. Once the device reconnects and uploads what it sold, those sales appear as normal purchases — attributed to the device and staff member who rang them up, and flagged as offline sales in reports.
