Steve Clarke and the Working Stiffs – Performing vintage Jazz and blues with joyful abandon with Ted Godbout – piano; has thrilled audiences throughout the Twin Cities. “Formed in 2001 for “Let Freedom Swing”, a benefit for the families of 911, the Working Stiffs have become the premier swing and jazz group performing throughout the region with their smoking all-star rhythm section and Steve Clarke’s sax front-and-center. Minneapolis sax man Steve Clarke has been a major musical figure for decades. He is one of the most active players in the twin cities, recording and performing with musicians not from coast to coast. He has appeared hundreds of recordings covering all styles of music. Steve has performed with Shirley Witherspoon, John Scofield, Debbie Duncan, Charmin Michelle, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Michael Bolton, Lamont Cranston, Cornbread Harris, Maurice Jacox, and many others. Steve and the Working Stiffs have received 11 Minnesota Music Awards, 3 Grammy nominations, and 3 MSP awards. Steve has been inducted into the Mid America Music Hall of Fame, has appeared in Downbeat Magazine, and serves as musical ambassador at the MSP International Airport.
